BEAUTIFUL 19thC WOOD BULLDOG w/GLASS EYES & COLLAR w/ TAG INKWELL w/ LINING
This is a beautiful wooden inkwell designed in the form of a Bulldog head with set glass eyes. The carving is of the highest quality with subtle details. Great face expression! The head is the lid of the inkwell attached with a brass hinge, he wears a leather collar with brass buckle and name tag. It is in excellent condition to its age and use. The back is as attractive as its front…exquisite piece. It has an internal gilded brass safety lid with metal and original glass lining in great antique condition but for a slight internal bruise to the top rim, see pictures, mentioned for completeness. Please check his great face expression! Really cute! It reads to the interior ‘25 Octubre 1879’ (October 25th 1879). It measures 4 3/16” high, 3” across to its widest point by 4” across to its thickest point, it weighs 10.40 oz or 294 grams. Just lovely!
