Victorian 'Black Forest' Red Squirrel Nutcracker With Glass Eyes

Beautiful antique late 1800s Wooden Nutcracker carved into the form of a Red Squirrel. (it's the red squirrel ears)

These usually were made in Brienz Switzerland, despite being coined 'Black Forest', for Victorian's on their Grand Tour of Europe in the late 1800's.

Fully functional and in good condition (most squirrels have damage to the ears after over 100 years on this earth)

Measures 8.5" long and 2.25" wide

Most of these nutcrackers are made from Linden Wood (Lime) but I am not sure of the wood used here
