This one is an antique late 1800s superb Black Forest hand carved hound or labrador, perhaps spaniel (I am not all that great in dog breeds, sorry), with amazing personality, anatomical accuracy and come-alive brown eyes made of glass. Lift his head and he reveals himself to be a fine old inkwell that still has the old ceramic ink pot within. Superb item! RARE - dogs are tough to find, and this one is spectacular, a real Animalier era work of art.
Very good to excellent condition throughout, without any chips or breaks and no damage to the ink pot within, either. Nothing to disclose other than a little age to him, which is just what we look for. No damage, though. Exceptionally fine!
